2019 MSHOA Annual Yard Sale

It's that time of year again! Time to unload all of your treasures you have been hoarding over the last year. The MSHOA Annual Yard Sale will be held on Saturday May 4th, 2019 from 8AM to 1PM. 

Old clothes, toys, furniture, yard equipment? - you betcha! Old engine blocks, abandoned vehicles, spent uranium? - worth a shot!

The MSHOA board will place an ad in the paper and arrange for a charitable organization to come by and pick up anything that you would like to donate after the event.

I will send out an announcement on Nextdoor to all surrounding neighborhoods. Signs will also be placed near the entrance to attract "customers" the week leading up to the event.

Be prepared, folks will swarm and traffic will be heavy. Please be safe out there!

2019 MSHOA Annual Meeting

The annual Homeowners Association meeting will be held at Christ Church United Methodist on March 3rd at 3:00 PM

Please check your mail as HOA dues notices are being sent out and are now due.  Dues remain at $150.

We need volunteers to serve on the HOA Board.  If anyone is interested, please contact Daniel Rives at 205-283-9361.

2018 MSHOA Annual Meeting

The meeting will be held on Sunday February 4th at 2PM at Christ Church (across the street). Mark you calendars!

Support Our Soldiers for Halloween!

Good afternoon MHOA residents!

It's that time of year again. Charon Rivers is asking that you save any unwanted candy for her organization, Save Our Soldiers. Charon will distribute bags to each mailbox with instructions. She will then collect the candy the next day so she can send it overseas to our men and women in service!

Mill Springs Estates front entrance renovation project

Per the conversation at the Homeowners Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 26th, 2017 PJ Lyons Landscape was the company recommended to renovate the Mill Springs Front Entrance and Island.

We need to have this voted on and ready to go by March 15th with construction starting around April 1st.

We need your vote in order to approve this project. Per the bylaws, 51% of the dues paying residents must approve. Note - only 1 vote per household will be counted.

You will be voting "Yes" or "No"  to renovate the front entrance and island.

Trick or Treat for Troops!

Charon Rivers is collecting candy for our deployed troops. If you have any leftover candy, please consider donating it to Trick or Treat for Troops! Bags have been distributed. You can leave them on your front porch for pick up on Tuesday or you can bring them by 733 MS Lane.

On Wednesday night, Susie from Goodie's Ice Cream Truck is going to come around the neighborhood around 6:30PM. Please join your neighbors in your the cul-de-sac for some ice cream and popsicles!

MSHOA Annual Meeting - 1/31/2016

We are officially scheduled for our MSHOA Annual Meeting at Christ Church United Methodist Church this Sunday (1/31). We will be meeting in room 210 at 2:00PM.

The Association Board has approved the budget for 2016. The homeowner’s dues will be $150.00 (the same as last year). Dues statements were mailed last Tuesday and your check should be made payable to Mill Springs Estates Homeowners Association.

Dues can be paid in any of the following ways:

• Mailed to our post office box - 5184 Caldwell Mill Road, Suite 204 Box 104, Birmingham, AL 35244
• You can give them to our treasurer Don Crossett at 1005 Mill Springs Drive
• Bring them to the Annual Meeting on 1/31/16. Your dues need to be paid timely. If they are not paid timely, a reminder will be sent; if still unpaid - interest will be assessed and a lien filed on your home. This process is costly and will significantly increase the amount you owe. Therefore, we want to encourage everyone to pay the entire balance as soon as possible.

Santa Clause is coming....to Mill Springs Estates!

Vehicle break-ins - Mill Springs Estates!

Last night 2 Mill Springs resident’s vehicles were broken into on Mill Springs Drive and Mill Springs Court. Items were taken out of these vehicles; both filed police reports.

Please be vigilant of any suspicious activity you may see. Feel free to contact me as well: 205-960-8357. Please remember to lock your doors if you park your vehicle outside. Also, please be sure the doors are locked to your home as well. We live in a nice area, however, crime has no boundaries.

Trick or Treat for Troops

"I would love for our neighbors to participate in helping our deployed troops again this Halloween. They love candy and I will be sending it in my Christmas boxes. I plan on sending 300 boxes so I will need lots of candy. I will place a bag on each mailbox on Thursday or Friday. Please place any unwanted candy in it and put the bag on your front porch. New trash containers - reminder

The City of Hoover has changed garbage vendors effective October 1^st, 2015. You may have already received your new garbage and recycling container today. ATTENTION: NEW GARBAGE VENDOR INFORMATION

Waste Services of Alabama (Santek) personnel will begin delivering your new carts September 14th. You will receive a gray cart for household trash and a blue cart for recyclables.  Both carts will be 96 gallon carts.  We have approximately 25,000 residents in Hoover who will receive new carts by the end of the month.  Please be patient with us during this transition period. 

PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR NEW CARTS UNTIL OCTOBER 1ST

After October 1st, our outgoing vendor - Republic Services, will collect one empty trash cart and one empty recycle cart per household. You may leave your old carts on the curb for pick-up after October 1st. Should you have questions concerning smaller recycle carts, please call Waste Services of Alabama (Santek) after October 1st at 205-631-1313 and they will exchange your large recycle cart for a smaller one upon request.   You may also contact the City of Hoover Public Works Department with questions at 205-444-7543.  

Although Santek will not officially begin servicing Hoover until October 1st, we have updated our website to reflect their contact information.  Please continue to contact Republic Services (205-929-5646) for garbage issues until October 1st.
